We are embarking on our 9th live Dinner with a Side of Culture Event.What: National Black Theatre Festival When: August 3 – August 8, 2015Where: In Winston-Salem, NC – City of the ArtsThe National Black Theatre Festival opened with a big splash and promises its most extensive run of shows since its debut 24 years ago. This is a huge celebratory event, and I encourage everyone to come out and be a part of what should prove to be another successful season. There is a lot of good stuff on the bill this year: plays, people-watching, parties. Kin Band / featured film Raiders of the Lost Ark; 9/27 – music by Aquatic Ceremony / featured film Back to the Future; and 10/18 – music TBD / featured film Ghostbusters. Inclement weather dates are the Sunday after the originally scheduled event.

What: Tackle Youth Football Registration – ages 7-12Where: High Point Parks & Recreation Administration Office- 136 Northpoint Avenue , High Point NCProgram is focused on the total development of the child and emphasizes camaraderie, fun and safety. Age is as of August 1. Practice beings August 3. League will play on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from August 1-November 1. $35 per person. http://www.highpointnc.gov/pr/

What: Summer Day Camp Registration – Rising K-5th Grades

When: Monday-Friday, June 17-August 21 from 7:30am-6pm.Where: Oakview Recreation Center-503 James Road , High Point NC Enjoy your favorite camp activities such as arts and crafts, field trips, team sports, and so much more. Be prepared to have tons of fun with plenty of laughs, smiles, and adventures.
