What: Laverne Cox at Wake Forest University

When: Monday, October 5at 7:00pm

Where: Wait Chapel- Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27106

Transgender actress and advocate, Laverne Cox, currently seen in the critically acclaimed Netflix original series Orange is the New Black, will lecture at Wake Forest University on Monday, October 5, 2015. Cox is the first transgender person to be featured on the cover of TIME magazine, and the first transgender actress to receive an Emmy nomination.

The lecture will be held in Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest Campus and will begin at 7:00 pm. Doors will open at 6:00 pm for students, faculty, and staff – you must show your Wake Forest ID. Doors will open to the general public at 6:30 pm and close at 7:00 pm to avoid disruption of the speaker. The event is free and open to the public. Following her lecture, Cox will answer questions from the audience.

What: Art on Tap 2015

When: October 3 – October 4

Where: Westerwood Tavern- 508 Guilford Ave, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401

Art on Tap, an outdoor art and beer fest complete with art demos and activity stations, live music, food trucks and BEER. Come one, come all people of all ages to Westerwood Tavern on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 4 – 7pm (indoor after party 7 – close.) $5 admission (kids are free) with complimentary raffle ticket.

There will be local artists creating works of art to be entered into the raffle. Jewelry, street art, ceramics, and a kids zone (that is sure to make the adults jealous). Also there will be a photo booth!

What: Center City Park Fall Festival

When: Friday at 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Where: Center City Park- 200 N Elm St, Greensboro, North Carolina 27401

Come out to Center City Park on Friday, October 2nd and celebrate the coming of Fall! We’ll have live music, food trucks, beers, games for kids & adults and more! Proceeds benefit the FREE seasonal programming in Center City Park!
