A Passion for Living Downtown

In the first event of its kind, the Downtown Home Tour will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., residents open their doors for tour goers to experience what it’s like to live downtown. Tour stops include the unveiling of downtown’s first LEED Platinum-certified live/work unit, a classic Southern-style home turned bed and breakfast, an art-centric brownstone, as well as an exploration into three of downtown’s newest private communities: Center Pointe, CityView at Southside and Arbor House Condominiums.

Advanced tickets are available online through Triad Stage at $12.50 per person. Participants may also purchase tickets in person at the Triad Stage box office at 232 S. Elm St. or by phone toll free at 866.579.TIXX (8499).

Advance ticket purchasers will also receive a free reusable tote and bonuses. Advanced ticket purchases are encouraged; however, limited day-of ticket sales will also be available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Maps /guides will be available at the designated Will Call/welcome site, Triad Stage, on the day of the tour. At each site, information about the home and residents will be shared with tour goers. The private homes are not for sale, rather, the residents are opening their doors so that the community can see and experience their passion for living downtown. Volunteers who either work, live or enjoy downtown will be on hand as tour guides.

Discounts will be offered to all tour goers on the day of the event at 15 different restaurants and shops from free dog daycare for new customers, to discounts on jewelry and free desserts with lunch purchases.
