11 WITNESS TO HIROSHIMA

WHAT: Asheboro native John McGlohons B-29 reconnaissance aircraft lifted off on August 6, 1945, for what he expected would be a routine flight. The day ended with McGlohon having snapped the only directly-overhead images in the immediate aftermath of the Hiroshima atomic bomb.

12 COASTAL WORK INFOCUS

WHAT: Focusing on works which invoke a sense of the coast, InFocus Gallery features painters Robert Irwin and Ellen Hathaway, and sculpture Robyn Horn. Irwin pursued his painting career and his love of sailing. Robyn Horn is influenced by the nature of the material and its resistance to being changed.
