Guilford County School Board raises lunch prices

The Guilford County School Board approved a 5-cent increase in lunch prices at its May 1 meeting in response to the federal Healthy, Hunger-Free Act of 2010. Prices for all students — elementary, middle and high school — will rise from $2.50 to $2.55 at the beginning of the next school year. The price hike will not affect students who receive free or reduced lunch, which accounts for 57 percent of the population.

Our Best of the Triad issue contained the following factual errors: We incorrecttly spelled the name of Neill McNeill of Fox 8 who won Best Male Anchor. Tipsy’s Tavern, runner-up for Best Burger, is actually in High Point. And the winner of Best Realtor, Frank Slate Brooks, is with Tyker Redhead & McAlister. YES! Weekly regrets the errors.
