MAN DIES AFTER MOPED ACCIDENT
Randal Bryant Abee died in the early morning hours of June 22 after crashing his moped into a parked vehicle on the 4700 block of Pennoak Road in Greensboro almost a month earlier. Abee died at Moses Cone Hospital from his injuries. His is the 10th motor vehicle fatality in Greensboro this year.
MAN SOUGHT FOR SEX CRIMES
Greensboro police are looking for 34-year old Javier Antonio Benitez Fuentes on two counts of felony 1st-degree sex offense. The suspect is known by last names Benitez and Fuentes, is 5’4”, about 170 pounds and known to drive a 2005 Chevy truck, a 2009 Ford truck, a 2002 Ford truck and a 1988 Ford twodoor. His last known address is 4200 US Highway 29, Trailer #287.
POLICE RECOVER SCOOTER, SUSPECT ESCAPES
A short suspect wielding a handgun and wearing jean shorts, or “jorts,” approached a scooter driver at the intersection of Doak and Ashe streets in Greensboro and demanded “property” from the victim before riding off on the scooter at about 8:30 pm on June 23. Police found the scooter, but not the suspect nearby. The investigation is ongoing.
BUSINESS ROBBED AT CLOSING TIME
Two Guys Warehouse on Veasley Street in Greensboro was robbed June 21 as staff was closing up soon after 9 p.m. The victims found two suspects waiting for them in the storage area with handguns. The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of money, though the police press release doesn’t say whether it was from the employees or the business.
