STABBING AT YOUR WAY GROCERY IN GREENSBORO

Greensboro Police arrived at Your Way Grocery on West Florida Street in response to a call about an assault at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Police found Star Lopez, 36, with multiple stab wounds in her upper-torso and head area. She was taken to Cone hospital for treatment. The suspect was described as a heavyset Hispanic male.

FIVE SUSPECTS CAUGHT AFTER STRING OF INDICENTS

Greensboro police observed several people breaking into a car in a parking lot on Patterson Avenue a little before 2 a.m. on Dec. 29. Upon further investigation, officers realized they were the same people apparently involved in an earlier shooting into an occupied pickup truck on High Point Road. The suspects fired six shots at the pickup, four of which made contact with the truck. The driver was not injured. They were also involved in a robbery from person, breaking and entering of motor vehicle and tampering of motor vehicle. The suspects are Jose Garcia-Lesso, 19, David Rodriguez, 21, Sergio Lemus, 18, Jose Razor-Garcia, 17, and Serei Lemus, 26.

A 180 ON REPORTED BREAK-IN

Winston-Salem police officers responded to a call on Forest Hill Avenue about a reported house breaking on Dec. 27. Three black men reportedly kicked in the rear door to the residence, which was occupied by Karlae Whitaker and her 4-year-old daughter. Whitaker exited the residence to contact the Police, leaving her daughter inside. Police surrounded Whitaker’s home and entered, finding the daughter unharmed in her bed. No suspects were found. A large amount of marijuana was found in plain view. 462 grams of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash were seized. Sherrard Gillespie, another resident, was arrested for the drugs.

ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON IN GREENSBORO

Greensboro police responded to the Exxon on High Point Road in reference to a shooting a little after 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 26. Deasia Workman, 19, said she had been involved in an argument with several other women when a black female took out a handgun and shot Workman. The assailant then left in a dark green sedan. Workman was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
