The best and worst of Triad police blotters, as compiled
LAY DOWN, LAY DOWN
Winston-Salem Police responded to a report of a black man lying in the street at the intersection of Green and Cotton streets on May 24. When they arrived, Norris Mitchell had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. The investigation into why a man was laying in the street with a gunshot wound is ongoing, so authorities ask anyone with knowledge on the matter call the Crimestoppers line at 336.727.2800. Odd that people called the police to report the man lying there, but not to report his gunshot wound.
HEY! DON’T COME AROUND HERE NO MORE
Greensboro officers responded to 3707 Brady Street in reference to a burglary call on May 20 at about 9:34 p.m. The resident screamed and the unidentified assailant fled on foot. He has not been located, so the investigation continues. Odd that the noise of trying to break in through a door doesn’t scare off would-be robbers or alert neighbors, but a screaming person does.
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, NO MATTER WHAT THEY TAKE
On May 13, officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Downtown Beauty Town Store on 406 N. Trade St. Kwame Audley Johnson allegedly walked into the store with a knife and demanded money from store attendant Grace Kim. He then fled on foot. Kim was treated for minor injuries. I wonder if Johnson really had his eye on a particular rouge or eye shadow and forgot to snag those in the heat of the moment. We may never know.
