LADEARA CREST HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRESTED IN NEW YORK
A second man has been arrested in connection with the recent murder of Dontae Renard Ross at the LaDeara Crest public housing community in Winston-Salem. Joseph Anthony Pichardo Jr., a 21-year-old Winston- Salem resident, was arrested in New York City on Sept. 29 and charged with murder. Winston-Salem police said on Oct. 2 that Pichardo was in custody in New York and would be extradited to North Carolina. Michael Damon Hines Jr., also 21, of Kernersville, was arrested earlier and charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Police said the investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated.
MAN PUNCHED AND KICKED BY LOITERERS
Ronald Eugene Robinson, 54, was walking on the sidewalk near 3602 Lakefield Drive in Greensboro on Oct. 2 at 12:40 a.m. when he passed six to eight young, black men. The young men reportedly approached Robinson and punched and kicked him repeatedly. After knocking Robinson down, they went through his pockets and took his belongings. Then they fled on foot. STABBED BY TATTOOED MAN AT POOLHALL
Christopher Patterson, 24, got into a fight with several people at Bessemer Billiards on Sunday at 1:41 a.m. when a heavyset white man with tattoos stabbed him with a knife. Patterson was treated at the scene by EMS. Witnesses said the assailant left the scene, possibly in a red vehicle.
