Here at the Flatiron this week’s Page Three girl, who goes by Cally West, made a pseudonym for herself by appearing regularly at the Tuesday night open-mic jam, eventually joining Deviled Eggs, the group that hosted the evening. She has since gone on to score other gigs around town both with and without that band with the scrumptious name. ‘“I’m working on an album right now, she says. ‘“It’s got ‘— I don’t know ‘— about half original [tunes] and some covers on it.’” She’s honing her live chops at places like Solaris, where she’ll play to the dinner crowd. ‘“They like covers,’” she says. ‘“I do ‘Rocky Raccoon.’ Everybody likes when I do ‘Me and Bobbie McGee.”” And though she’s been making the musical rounds around town, you can still find her down in the Flat every Tuesday night for open mic. ‘“This is my favorite place to be,’” she says.
