A Nov. 16 story, ‘“Congressional candidate launches campaign with a gaffe,’” concerned a David Crawford of Greensboro, who said he plans to run as a Democrat against Republican Rep. Howard Coble for the 6th District seat of the US House of Representatives in the 2006 election.
The David Crawford referenced in this story should not be confused with David Rudolf Crawford of Mt. Airy. David Rudolf Crawford chairs the 5th District NC Democrats and unsuccessfully challenged Republican Rep. Richard Burr for the 5th District seat in the US House of Representatives in the 2002 election. Burr was subsequently elected to the Senate, replacing John Edwards.
