We just got some bothersome news, and it’s rather disappointing given the credibility of the headliner: According to the owners at Bucked Up Super Saloon, the Delbert McClinton show scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, has been cancelled. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. Here is our original preview of the show that ran in print this week:
To celebrate its four-year anniversary, Bucked Up is bringing one of country music’s most tenured veterans,Delbert McClinton. McClinton has been in the music game for over five decades, having earned Grammy awards alongside Bonnie Raitt, an induction into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame and multiple singles on Billboard Top 100 charts. If you’ve ever seen the Bill Murray opus Groundhog Day, the opening song “Weatherman” has McClinton singing and playing. Aside from earning various Grammy nominations over the years, releasing more than 25 albums since 1972 and keeping a comfortable touring schedule at the same time, McClinton comes to Kernersville to celebrate four years of serving drinks, boot scootin’ and dancing.
Sorry to all the Delbert McClinton fans out there. Hopefully the legend will get booked around here again soon.
