[EXTENDED PLAY]

One of the coolest bands in the area has got to be The Ends. This Burlington-based rock unit is making waves in Greensboro. Bassist Josh Coe operates the super smooth Beer Co. on McGee Street and the already formidable group of musicians added the wellloved Josh King to the lineup earlier this year. If Bunk’s driving drums and throaty rock vocals don’t get you, then surely Keith Ingalls will once he puts that foot up on the monitor during a lead break. The Ends are back at Corner Bar in Greensboro on Thursday.

Another great Triad rock band, The Luxuriant Sedans, plays The Garage in Winston on Friday night. These veteran musicians gel around Ed Bumgardner’s infinite knowledge of rock, while Mike Wesolowski’s vocals and stellar harmonica give an extra ounce of grit.

The Blind Tiger kicks off the week Wednesday night with Frnkiero and the Cellabration, with Roger Harvey, Jared Hart and Magnolia on the bill. Electric Soul Pandemic hits the state at The Blind Tiger on Friday, followed by Gobblefest on Saturday, which is described as “the uniting of bands from all different genres and geographic locations for the purpose of camaraderie and entertainment in the spirit of Thanksgiving.” Ten bands are on the list, including 3 Quarters Dead, The Pretty-Ugly, Everthrone and Psychotropic Remedy. Rock!

If you’re looking to relive the 80s then Cinderella’s Tom Keifer is for you on Sunday night at Ziggy’s. The Small Batch Songwriter Series returns to Gibb’s Hundred Brewing on Sunday at 5 p.m. with Taylor Briggs and M.C. Armstrong of Viva La Muerte scheduled to perform.

Down the calendar a bit, we’re excited about Holy Ghost Tent Revival at The Blind Tiger on Nov. 20, followed a week later by the album release show for Joel Henry Band on Nov. 27.

Col. Bruce Hampton hits the stage at The Garage on Nov. 20.

There’s a little show at the Greensboro Coliseum on Nov. 14. Anyone planning to go?

As always, check out Jazz at Tate’s Craft Cocktails and Songs from a Southern Kitchen at Lucky 32, both events on Tuesdays, and Jazz and Cocktails at O.Henry Hotel on Thursdays. Email show tips and band info to editor@yesweekly.com so we know what’s up! !
