Emily Gillespie

by Brian Clarey

This week’s Page Three model, Emily Gillespie, is a sensible gal who, like many of us, has logged countless hours at the local Laundromat. We snagged her on a Thursday night at the Suds-n-Duds by the corner of Walker and Elam, though she was not, in fact, washing her clothes. Emily is one of an astounding number of highly educated service industry workers in the city of Greensboro, and we pulled her out after her bartending shift at Fishbones. But after graduating from Grimsley High in 1995 she got her bachelor’s at UNCG and went on to attain her master’s in library science there. Now, when she’s not slinging drinks she works at the Kathleen Clay Edwards Family Branch Library – or she’s on the road as a Ryan Adams fangirl. Her summer itinerary includes stops in Ohio; Myrtle Beach, SC; Charlottesville, Va.; and the Lollapalooza date in Chicago to see the Carolina crooner. She may even be thinking of him in her Page Three shot above.
