Emily Grill

by Brian Clarey

Emily Grill keeps books on Eastern philosophy in the back seat of her car: Meditations on the Soul, Opening the Eye of New Awareness by the Dalai Lama and The Tao of Pooh. ‘“I’m teaching myself Eastern Religion,’” she breezes, desire as the cause of suffering and all that. ‘“But what is life without desire?’” she asks. Emily, a Greensboro native and member of the Grimsley Class of ’00 works as a hair stylist at the posh Orrell Design over by the ballpark and we must say that she’s one of the best Page Three models yet. She straightened our hair, waxed our unibrow and told us we looked like a rock star. We’re not sure if she really meant it, but Jimmy crack corn and we don’t care.
