There’s something about this week’s Page Three model, Emily Hunter, that we find captivating. She’s a bartender at 223 South Elm, and everybody knows how much we love bartenders, but that’s not the whole story. She’s got an ebullient personality, sure, but that’s not it. She’s a UNCG grad – Class of ’04, with a major in English and a minor in art history which inspires her to say, “I’ll be bartending for the rest of my life” – but there’s no shortage of educated bartenders, even in this town. No, her appeal is in her smile – more specifically, the little gap between her front teeth. The diastema. Lauren Hutton has it. David Letterman, too. Madonna, Condoleezza Rice, Cornel West, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alfred E. Neuman and the porn star Belladonna all rose to great heights with that wonderful gap between their front teeth, and Emily knows that it may be the source of her power. “My dentist always wants to close it up,” she says, “but the older men in the bar always ask me about Lauren Hutton.” And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s this: Old men in a bar know everything.
