At midafternoon in Jake’s Billiards on Spring Garden Street, a couple of regulars come in the back door. ‘“So you a movie star today?’” one of them asks Erin Muldoon as she poses by the foosball table.
‘“Yeah,’” she says. ‘“This is my fifteen minutes of fame.’” Erin, we here at YES! Weekly think we may be able to get you 20. Erin’s a native New Yorker, born in Staten Island and relocated to Greensboro when she was just a teenager. Now 24, she’s been in Greensboro for ten years with brief stopovers in Seattle and Scotland. She’s been tending bar at Jakes Billiards for about two years now and when she’s not working you can find her at the Old Town Draught House, M’Coul’s or the Arboretum where she’s learning to throw a Frisbee forehanded. Her message to her soon-to-be fans is a simple one: ‘“Greensboro’s really changing. Stay here, go to shows, go to bars and tip your waitresses and bartenders.’” Here’s a tip from us: check her out Monday nights for dollar domestics.
