First Citizens Bank robbery

A First Citizens Bank located in Winston-Salem was robbed on Aug. 25. The suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and displayed a knife. He demanded money, and the teller handed over an undisclosed amount. The suspect left the bank on foot heading in a northerly direction. The money was in a bag containing a dye pack, which exploded at some point. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’6” to 5’9,” about 150 pounds and possibly covered in red dye. He is said to be in his twenties with short hair and wearing all black clothing.

Fleeing felons taken into custody

The High Point Police Department requested assistance from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office with the stop of a white Honda on Aug. 26. Coleda Kathleen Lee, 36, was driving the vehicle with Jason Charles Kennon, 27, in the passenger seat. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, Lee fled. After a short chase a deputy T-boned the car. Lee was arrested on the scene and taken to Guilford County Jail while Kennon was taken to Moses Cone Hospital after telling officers that he had used a large amount of heroin.

Cockfighting ring busted

Winston-Salem police arrested Fabian B. Herrera, 31, and Miguel A. Cuadra, 50, on Aug. 25 after obtaining a search warrant in relation to an investigation regarding cruelty to animals. The officers executed the search of Cuadra and Herrera’s home on Fanning Road and found cockfighting paraphernalia items. Officers also found 100 game-cocks, and Forsyth County Animal Control helped seize several of them as evidence.
