Foothills expanding distribution to Georgia

Foothills isn’t just celebrating the release of its Oktoberfest beer this month.Foothills Brewing Company announced on Monday that the popular craft beer manufacturer plans to expand distribution into Georgia early next year.Brewmaster and President Jamie Bartholomaus began his career brewing beer as an undergraduate at the University of Georgia.Twenty years later, the success of Winston-Salem-based Foothills means the brewery is ready to expand into the largest market in the southeast.”Atlanta’s the biggest market in our region, we’re looking forward to having the Foothills brand there as well as throughout the state,” said co–owner Matt Masten.The brewery also announced plans to install its biggest set of fermentation tanks yet. Foothills will “install several new 400-barrel fermentation tanks (our largest ever) in our main brewing facility in Winston-Salem.”The tanks should be online prior to distribution in Georgia, the company said, and will bring brewing capacity to about 70,000 barrels a year.
