Holiday celebrations and libations, Triad style

Plans and parties are happening. School’s out. Our schedules just got a little crazier this the week of Christmas and heading into the New Year. How is it possible?

So, when you don’t feel like cooking and need to make last minute plans, here’s a list of some of the restaurant schedules you might need to be aware of. Some restaurants are going all out and some are taking some time off. If you don’t see your favorite restaurant or shop here, be sure to call ahead or look online to see what their schedule looks like over the holidays.

PROVIDENCE RESTAURANT

5790 University Parkway, Winston-Salem

Open for Christmas Eve lunch until 3:00 p.m. Then, on Christmas Day, Chef Jeff Bacon and his team are preparing a breakfast spread from 6-10 a.m., followed by a Holiday Brunch from 10:30-3 p.m. Call for reservations. (336) 744-3456; providencerestaurantws.com

CHEF DION SPRENKLE

5479 Old US-52, Lexington

Chef will be open Christmas Eve for a special Feast of the Fishes. After that, the restaurant will take a break until New Year’s Eve. Pretty awesome looking menu for the feast. Reservations accepted or the feast and NYE. (336) 731-6496; chefdion. com

HEARTH RESTAURANT AT SANDERS RIDGE

3200 Round Hill Road, Boonville The restaurant will be open Dec. 23 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. for a four-course prix fixe Special Christmas Menu with all the holiday inspired fixings. The restaurant is taking a couple of days off for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. New Year’s Eve: Open 5:30-9pm for a Family Style Prime Rib with Salads & Sides. Closed Jan. 4-17. THE PORCH KITCHEN AND CANTINA

840 Mill Works Street, Winston-Salem

Claire Calvin and her team will be dishing out Tex-Mex until 3 p.m. Christmas Eve. Closed Christmas Day, reopening for normal hours on December 26. Then Calvin says they’ll be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. She hints that a festivus will likely be celebrated on the 23rd if you are so inclined to start your holiday early! MILNER BROTHERS

2391 Lewisville Clemmons Road, Clemmons

Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They are currently taking reservations for New Year’s Eve. And will be open for a traditional Southern dinner on New Year’s Day. (336) 712-9640; themilnerbrothers. com

BLUE DENIM

217 South Elm Street, Greensboro

Chef and owner Jody Morphis will have the restaurant open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day with special features to ring in the New Year like black eyed peas and collard greens. (336) 676-5689

TART SWEETS

848 West Fifth Street, Winston-Salem

Chelsea Tart and her team of baristas and bakers will take a few days to enjoy the holidays. The shop will be open Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to noon then closed December 25-27. On New Year’s Eve, they’ll be open until mid-afternoon and then closed January 1-3. If you need a baked good, now’s the time to order it. GRAZE RESTAURANT

425 North Cherry Street, Winston-Salem

Chef Richard Miller always makes sure visitors from out of town who stay in the Marriott (and folks who just love the restaurant) have plenty of options at Graze.

Reservations are still being accepted for a Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day Four Course Dinner. Complimentary valet parking is included. For the menu, check out grazews.com but we’ve already seen it and it looks pretty spectacular with Lobster Bisque, Salad, Surf & Turf Third Course with crab cakes, scallops, grouper, quail, filet mignon, etc. And dessert choices of Eggnog Soaked Pound Cake or Chocolate S’more Budino. UNDERCURRENT

327 Battleground Avenue, Greensboro The restaurant will be ringing in the New Year with the Andrew Thielen Big Band. Make dinner reservations (separately) then head across the street to the Northwestern Mutual Building for dessert, champagne and an open bar. QB will be open on New Year’s Eve from 4 p.m. until. Signature Champagne Flight of three chilled flutes will be $11. First come, first serve as always at the QB.

1703 RESTAURANT

1703 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem

The restaurant will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and closed for dinner on December 26 th for a private event.

MARY’S GOURMET DINER

TABLE 16 RESTAURANT
