Karen McCracken: Page 3 May 16, 2007

People always want to know: Where do we find these people, these small-scale celebrities that grace our Page Three? Well, we find them in restaurants and in bars. We find them walking around the street or working in stores. Sometimes they come to us. And when all else fails, we turn to MySpace, which is where we discovered High Point native Karen McCracken. Karen has been caring for terminally ill patients much of her working life – “My whole family is in nursing,” she says, “but it’s not really something I want to make a career of.” She says she wants to go to massage therapy school, which is fine by us. And on her down time she likes to frequent the more raucous and lively bars of Greensboro. “It really depends,” she says. “For a while I was going to Greene Street. I like to go to the baseball games. I was hanging out at Arizona Pete’s for a little while and I’ve been going to Inferno a lot lately.” You also might see her wearing the YES! Weekly colors at a Triad event soon: We hired her for our promotions department because she looks so damn good in the T-shirt.
