REBECCA YOUNG: AN INSPIRATIONAL MISFIT
BY KAREN PHILLIPS
Rebecca Young is an artist. She lives for freedom of self-expression — even her tattooed body is a canvas. Rebecca says she was a “bad kid” until having her son changed her life 17 years ago. Because of her past, she understands adolescents and hopes that her “weirdness” helps them realize they can grow up to be anything they want. Rebecca is a licensed cosmetologist. She loves coloring hair, and is meticulous in her work.
Having worked in the mental health field for over 17 years, Rebecca would love to find a way to use her love of the arts and cosmetology to help children and adolescents in group homes, or the elderly in nursing homes. If she can help other people avoid the paths she traveled, then her past would be justified.
Born and raised in California, Rebecca moved to Winston-Salem with her husband and son about 12 years ago. She says there are only so many slots her personality can fit into and she always ends up where she’s supposed to be: providing service. E-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about her services.
