Dana Wichman started making tutus for her daughter so she could take cute pictures of her. When Dana’s friends saw the tutus, they kept calling her and asking to buy some. Dana decided to put her talents to good use and opened her business, Zea’s Tutus, named after her grandmother, Euzeala, who was also a seamstress. Dana works as a full-time mom, fulfilling orders and starting new projects when her two children are sleeping. Zea’s isn’t just about tutus; Dana makes custom products for her clients, and says, “I’m up for anything. If you have an idea and want me to try it, just tell me.” Her most recent project is Christmas wreaths. She has had such an influx in requests for her wreaths that she hasn’t really had time to work on much else right now. Her wreaths sell between $30 and $45 and she can customize them with colors, lights, initials or anything else the customer can think of. Dana can also make tree-toppers and garland to match. For more information or to order some unique holiday décor, visit facebook. com/zeastutus or Dana can also be reached at 336.906.2614. Zea’s Tutu’s will be exhibiting at the Holiday Extravaganza at Castle McCulloch on Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
