Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem is getting a cool, new tenant.
Brandy Wall, a feisty, dark-haired, business woman from Lawsonville is launching her latest venture — Up Against the Wall — a clothing store for men and women.
When asked how she came up with the name Wall said, “My last name. It worked out nice to use it in the store’s name.
“I was a paramedic in Stokes County for 10 years before I opened my first store,” she said. “It was called Priss Pots and was also in the mall. I ran it from 2006 to 2009 and was doing very well until I was made an offer to sell the business. It was a clothing store as well and ever since I sold it I have been missing the business.”
Wall and buyer Tiffany Wagoner have been working together for months to get the store ready by going to clothing expos, making new contacts, and researching the latest and most popular fashion trends.
Up Against the Wall will feature such unique brands as All California, YA Los Angeles, Miss Me Jeans, Charles David Pumps, Rebel Boots, Kershima Knits, Lucky 13, Fly Supply, Superstar Accessories and Famous Club Clothing, to name a few.
“We will be the only store in the area that has some of these brands and people are going to really be excited,” she said. “We were able to see some of them in Atlanta at the huge clothing expo and picked up some amazing things.”
On a mega side note, Wall said she is planning to launch her own clothing line with her sister Brittney Wall called Randolph Clothing Company this spring. She describes it as an eclectic line for men. The company is named after their grandfather and father, who were both named Randolph. The brand will be sold in NC first and if all goes well, Atlanta and California.
Up Against the Wall opened Nov. 9 and is located on the second floor of Hanes Mall.
