Smokin’ Harley-Davidson of Winston- Salem is on the brink of celebrating their 5 th year in business, and by the looks of their crowded parking lot, they will be a staple in the community for many years to come.

The Winston-Salem dealership is a Circle of Excellence Award winner, and it has been voted one of the best 100 dealerships in North America.

“It’s not just your dealership, it is your destination,” said Ray Perry.

Perry is the general manager and business partner of the establishment. He is a retired Navy Command Master Chief, and he has worked with Harley-Davidson for 15 years.

Perry is also the proud owner of three Harley bikes.

“I have a 2001 Springer, a 1995 Fatboy and a 1963 Topper,” Perry said.

Perry emphasizes that buying a bike at Smokin’ Harley-Davidson will not only be a pleasant experience, but it will be an easy one too.

“Purchasing a bike from us is easy,” Perry said. “Most people don’t realize you can get a brand new Harley-Davidson for less than $7,000.”

As Perry and the kind staff at Smokin’ Harley-Davidson are settled in to their busy season, they are reminded that the reason for their continued success is their excellent customer service.

“We are very successful here at Smokin’ because we understand that owning a Harley-Davidson is not a necessity but a want,” Perry said. “Our customer service has to go above and beyond by giving them the experience of their lifetime to keep the customer coming back.”

Smokin’ Harley-Davidson also has a restaurant next to the dealership called Southern Smoke Eatery and Tavern where customers are encouraged to enjoy a meal while their bikes are being serviced.

Perry and the staff at Smokin’ Harley- Davidson understand the importance of the biker community as well as the community of the Triad.

“There are thousands of bikers in the Triad area,” Perry said. “We have doctors come in. We have lawyers. All people of all color or anything are welcome.”

Over the past five years, the dealership has raised over $100,000 for local charities including the Second Harvest Food Bank, ALS Foundation and Toys for Tots.

“It seems every weekend we are sponsoring a ride or event to help local charities,” Perry said.

On May 17, the dealership will have their 5 th anniversary party. The party, hosted by Smokin’ Harley-Davidson and Rock 92, will begin at 10am. It will conclude at 3pm with a giveaway of a 2014 Fatboy.
