There’s always a next generation of artists and visionaries, but it’s not easy to spot them when social media saturates the market. However, this is where 15-year old Ethan Green of Winston- Salem manages to stick out.

A professional photographer in training (his images have appeared in this publication on numerous occasions), Green is a rising sophomore at R. J. Reynolds High School pursuing studies in photography and biology. He’s spoken at length about his aspirations to be a photographer for National Geographic – something he believes a degree in biology will help him attain.

But outside of his scientific interests, Green also operates an increasingly popular Instagram account, @ PeopleofWS, alongside business partner Clint Snuggs.

“We were in the same class and he knew I was a photographer,” Green said. “We were talking about ‘Humans of New York.’ He asked me if I wanted to join him and start People of Winston- Salem.”

Other than that, Green said that he is interested in skateboarding, writing, but mainly photography. It was actually at a skateboarding event – Phuzz Phest Skate Jam – where Green caught the eye of Yes! Weekly. Since then, he has been on location for U.S. Gymnastics, Winston-Salem Cycle Challenge, and most recently, the official photographer for the Twin City Santa Christmas in July event at Bailey Park. !
