Chris Vernon has been in the Triad for about 20 years, which is nearly his whole life. Both of his parents grew up here, and Vernon has a great eye for the change happening in the Triad. “There’s honestly nowhere else I’d rather be, the culture in the Triad is tremendous and it’s been exciting to see that continue to grow, especially over the last couple of years” Vernon says.

When I asked Vernon ‘what he does’ his response was the kind of response I hear come from artists, a response that makes artists some of my favorite people to be around. “I love this question because I always love telling people what I do,” Vernon said. “I do what I’m passionate about, and that’s design. I’m a Freelance Graphic Designer that focuses on helping small businesses, entrepreneurs, or corporations provide value through effective visual communication. I think a lot of people underestimate the power of Design and how incredibly influential a good brand can be.”

Vernon is a cup overflowing at this point explaining the importance of art in his life. “Ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon I’ve had the desire to create, and I couldn’t imagine spending a second of my life not doing what I’m passionate about,” Vernon said.

The ties between artistry and the clients you provide for or work with can sometimes be a pain, but on the best side it is utterly fulfilling. Vernon explains, “The most exciting part of my job for me is interacting with my clients, getting to know them and why they do what they do, because when a client hires me they’re sharing their hard work and dreams with me and I consider it my duty to provide the highest amount of value to help them accomplish their goals.” !
