Jamie Carroll — guitarist/songwriter

Jamie Carroll is a guitarist and songwriter who doesn’t want to be famous. After going through what he describes as the “‘almost make it’ kind of stuff,” Carroll just wants a full-time music career. A Wilkes County native, Carroll began his musical journey by singing in church and along with old records and the radio. “Instead of barrooms on every corner, there were churches,” Carroll says. The 36-year-old musician notes the Eagles, the Beatles, Bon Jovi and various classic rock and outlaw country musicians as his early influences. Throughout his career, Carroll has had the chance to write for and play with such names as Jerry Chapman, Doug Davis, Edwin McCain, Paul Thorn, Mitch Malloy and, more recently, Katelyn Marks. If you catch any of his solo shows, you’ll be in for a treat. “I play very loud acoustic,” Carroll says. With the 2010 release of his album entitled Reality and two new albums in the works, Carroll is happy with his success. “I’m extremely blessed to book all the way through December.,” he says. “I’m happy where I’m at.” Jamie Carroll plays Bruchette guitars and has free music and a schedule of upcoming performances through his website jamiecarrollmusic.com.
