Out of a Field of 84 Comics, Only Five Comedians Remain to Try to Win the 8th Annual Ultimate Comic Challenge

Only five comedians remain for the Finals of the Ultimate Comic Challenge (the UCC), which will be held on Saturday, February 13 at 8:30 pm at the historic Carolina Theatre in downtown Greensboro. Audience members selected these comedians through several rounds as the audience narrowed the initial field of 84 to just five finalists. The Ultimate Comic Challenge, best compared to NBC’s Last Comic Standing, is North Carolina’s biggest stand-up comic contest with a field of 84 from all over the Southeast and $1900 in prizes to the winning comedians. The five finalists will try to impress the crowd and judges for the UCC Finals to take down the top prize.

“While the top prize means a lot to the winner, a packed house and a great experience means a lot to all five Finalists” said Jennie Stencel, co-owner of the Idiot Box Comedy Club and co-producer of the UCC. “We really just want to fill that place to show these NC comedians our support.”

Only 5 comedians made it to the finals which will be hosted by Eric Trundy, a previous UCC Champion (UCC #4). “Each of these comics is funny enough to win and funny enough to make it big,” tells Jennie Stencel. Special performances by Jennie Stencel and Steve Lesser and more. The five finalists are:
