Farmer’s Realm, the latest restaurant from Kick Ass Concepts, will focus on global flavors and feature local ingredients. The new restaurant will also feature a small market of sorts selling produce and some prepared foods. Executive Chef Jay Pierce aims to deepen his relationships with local food partners creating greater accessibility to regionally grown and raised foods. Pierce notes that having items for sale is a way to increase the amount we purchase from our partners and an added convenience for anyone looking to buy local. “I want you to keep going to the farmer’s market, but if you miss your regular Saturday visit or just need a few ingredients, come on by. Think of it as a chef curated experience, you can cook with the same ingredients I use in the restaurant” says Pierce.

Marty Kotis, owner and Greensboro real estate developer says, “When you have Jay Pierce in the kitchen and Mark Weddle behind the bar, Farmer’s Realm is inevitable. Add in the continued influence from Bart Ortiz, President of our restaurant division, and you have over 65 years of collective experience in working with local food partners and delivering top notch hospitality to the folks in our community.”

Farmer’s Realm will be located at 1211 Battleground Ave next to RED Cinemas in the heart of Midtown. The Marshall Free House will close its doors Sunday evening September 4th after dinner service so that the transition can begin. Regular updates will be posted on Facebook and other forms of social media. Projected opening is early winter.
