NC Court of Appeals Judge (Wynn seat), general election
Jim Wynn’s appointment to the 4th Circuit US Court of Appeals creates a sudden vacancy on the NC Court of Appeals. Thirteen candidates have filed to run for the seat, which will be decided by an instant runoff vote on Nov. 2, in lieu of a primary. Among the candidates is Cressie Thigpen, who was appointed by Gov. Beverly Perdue on Aug. 23 to fill Wynn’s unexpired term.
