One if by land, two if by sea
A Guilford County man has plans to form a corps of Minutemen who would assist in the war on illegal immigration. This comes on the heels of the release of a new book by columnist and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan, in which he warns of the dangers we face from the influx of illegals.
Buchanan also dispels the melting-pot argument by reporting that we now have more illegal Hispanics in America than the total number of Irish and Jewish people who immigrated here legally over the past 300 years.
Buchanan has a right to say, “I told you so.” When trying to dethrone the elder George Bush in 1992, Pat’s platform included a moratorium on immigration and a tightening of our borders.
But the media ridiculed Buchanan, saying his ideas were racist, xenophobic and protectionist.
We now know that Pat was right, and had we heeded his warnings we wouldn’t be on the brink of a civil war in this country.
America’s founding fathers encouraged the formation of minutemen militia, but over time our dictatorial federal government has outlawed and maligned such groups.
So long as the proposed Guilford corps doesn’t take the law into their own hands, then I welcome their proactive involvement, which might just help stem the tide of illegal immigration, and save us from ruin.
But the Minutemen better act fast, because our country is running out of minutes.
