Carolina Theater is spicing up its Crown space with live music and dancing on Thursday. Dance from Above 4.0 will feature the bands Ex Cult, Danny Dunn, Daddy Issues, Josh Johnson, Darklove and others. Doors open at 8 p.m.
and tickets are $10 at the door.
Thursday through Sunday, Twin City Stage continues its adult fairytale, Into the Woods, which follows up the traditional happily-ever-after tale with a darker ending.
This week through Sunday are the last performances of Triad Stage’s The 39 Steps, an energetic comedy based on Alfred Hitchcock’s work. The play contains a spy, a murder victim, a man caught in the middle, and plenty of slap-stick humor.
Wednesday through Sunday, Theatre Alliance presents another run of the musical La Cage aux Folles, a comedy that follows a happy gay couple and their hilarious charades as they pretend to be “normal” to meet their son’s bride to be.
New on Thursday, Paper Lantern Theatre Company presents Mrs. Mannerly, a comic tale about a 10-year-old boy studying etiquette. Play runs through Oct. 5 in Triad Stage’s UpStage Cabaret.
Select days Friday through Oct. 12, Community Theatre of Greensboro presents The Fantasticks, called the longest running musical in the world. The funny, romantic musical features a love story and such Broadway classics as Try to Remember.
Saturday, Twin City Stage presents a one-time performance of Harry the Dirty Dog at the Arts Council Theatre. Performed by ArtsPower National Touring Theatre, the children’s play follows a puppy that runs away because he hates taking baths.
Coming soon on Oct. 2, UNCG Theater will present William Shakespeare’s love triangle and beloved comedy, Twelfth Night, at the Taylor Theater on campus.
