[PLAYBILL]

Thursday through Sunday, Community Theatre of Greensboro presents a student-directed production of Cinderella Kids at its Starr Theatre. The theatre also just had an open house for its upcoming summer camps. Anyone interested can find more information on their camps at ctgso.org/education/ theatre-camps.

New this month is Triad Stage’s final production, a devilish comedy by the name of Don Juan, written by Moliére and adapted by Preston Lane. The play, which features an infamous playboy, makes its audience contemplate the meaning of love and trust. Previews begin this week, and opening night is next Friday, June 10.

Twin City Stage’s final mainstage production is new this week, beginning Friday. Tuesdays with Morrie, based on the book by Mitch Albom, recounts a sports columnist’s time spent with his dying former sociology professor. Friday’s performance is opening night and will be coupled with wine and hors d’oeuvres at the Hanesbrands Theatre.

Next week, The Drama Center of City Arts, in collaboration with the Guilford County Schools, will hold auditions for Henry IV, Part 1 on Friday, June 10, and Saturday, June 11, in the Greensboro Cultural Center.

Also later this month, on June 16 and 17, High Point Ballet will perform Gary Taylor’s On Broadway, which includes wide-ranging choreography, from the classical ballet of An American in Paris to the tight intensity of Fosse and the throwback jazziness of 42nd Street.

Coming this July is Open Space Café Theatre’s production of the hilarious 25 th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The production features a variety of kids with quirks as they compete to take home the trophy.

In other news, Community Theatre of Greensboro is reaching out for help to raise the more than $18,000 needed before June 30. Donations will help keep CTG’s programs running, including its Onstage and Inclusive, a theatre program for actors with special needs, its Centerstage Youth Theatre, as well as its family-friendly productions. To make a donation, go to ctgso.org and select “Become a CTG Angel” to make a one-time gift, or select “CTG Dreambuilders” to donate a small amount each month. !
