Saturday, Artistic Motion Preparatory Academy, a division of Artistic Motion School of Arts, is holding auditions for its pre-professional ballet-training program. Open Space Café Theatre is also holding auditions this weekend. Auditions for Arsenic and Old Lace will take place 7 p.m. Sunday at Congregational United Church of Christ. The theater is seeking 11 men and two women.Triad Stage continues its tradition of performing great southern works with its first production of the season, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams. The play features a family in the Mississippi Delta that has gathered at Big Daddy’s plantation home for his birthday. The visit is filled with lies and deceit as they try to keep his terminal diagnosis a secret, all while each family member has their own agenda. Play runs through September 20. This week is the final run of Theatre Alliance’s all-male production of Nunsense II: The Second Coming, which features a gang of silly nuns putting on a show. Coming soon is Kernersville Little Theater’s production of The Marvelous Wonderettes, a play about a girl band in the 1950s and 60s. The nostalgic play includes the best of the oldies, including It’s My Party, Lollipop and Leader of the Pack. Production opens September 11 on the stage of the Cupid’s Park Theatre at Historic Körners Folly. In other KLT news, there’s still time to cast your vote for the theater to receive the Truliant Federal Credit Union’s $1,000 grant. Simply vote once a day on Truliant’s Facebook page now through August 31. Also on September 11, Theatre Alliance is producing their first show of the new season, The Addams Family. The musical follows the iconic dark family and Wednesday’s love for a sweet, respectable and worst of all “normal” boy.
