Potters of the Piedmont pottery festival cancelled due to weather reports

by Britt Chester

We just got some depressing news: Due to the weather reports for the weekend, the Potters of the Piedmont pottery festival has been cancelled. In a press release sent out this morning from Jim Rientjes of Earthworx Pottery, media were notified that the festival, set to take place Saturday, Nov. 1 in downtown Greensboro, will no longer be occurring.

With early reports pointing to the possibility that the Triad area might see its first snowflakes this weekend, it makes sense that festival organizers would want to cancel. In the release, Rientjes made it very clear that the biggest concern would be for attending artists work, tent space, and the safety of attendees.
We’ll follow this story and update throughout the day if there is a change of venue.
