Radical Reels film tour rocks Winston-Salem

Radial Reels tour coming to Winston-Salem this weekend.

The Great Outdoor Provision Co. in Winston-Salem, in conjunction with the Banff Mountain Centre, is sponsoring a special film event that will take place Saturday, Sept. 12 at Hanesbrands Theatre.The 2015 Radical Reels film tour is a collection of the best, high-energy, high-impact films submitted to the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival competition. Each year, Radical Reels goes on tour to more than 65 locations throughout the US and Canada, showcasing such exhilarating activities as climbing, paddling, rafting, mountain biking, BASE jumping, skiing, snowboarding, and just about anything that involves adrenaline and high risk.The Banff Mountain Film Festival, which was inaugurated in 1976, is an international film competition of short films and documentaries, and is held every year in Banff, Alberta concurrently with the Banff Mountain Book Festival. Immediately after the festival in November, a selection of the best films entered in the festival goes on tour, showcasing outdoor adventure, environmental conservation and sheer excitement.”This marks the fifth year in a row that GOPC has hosted the film series in Winston-Salem,” says Don Pulsfort. “What these people do (in the film) – climbing, kayaking, skiing and SMX, which is a combination of mountain biking and snowboarding – who knew?! – is jaw-dropping and inspiring, inspiring in the sense to get out an experience all the great outdoors has to offer. “This annual event is an awesome way for GOPC to connect with our customers and the local community to bring them high-adrenaline sports films they normally wouldn’t get a chance to see.
