Greensboro police Officer Thomas Lee Eastridge faces a charge of assault on a female in Surry County. The Greensboro Police Department announced on Monday that Eastridge had turned himself in at the sheriff’s office in response to a warrant for an alleged assault on his wife at their home in Surry County.

The police department plans to conduct an internal administrative investigation on Eastridge as part of a standard practice when criminal allegations are made against a department employee, and the officer will be placed on administrative duties until his case is adjudicated.

The 30-year-old Eastridge was hired by the department in 2005, and had been assigned to the tactical narcotics team until the time of his arrest.
