Whelp, it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday, and if you know what’s good for you you’ll make a reservation for brunch, lunch or dinner toots suite. Some suggestions:

Undercurrent in Greensboro has brunch seating from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Make a reservation at 336.370.1266.

The Grandover Resort’s Di Valletta restaurant has just had its brunch names as one of the Top 100 in the country by Reserve a spot at 336.834.4877.

Table 16, also in Greensboro, opens at noon on Mother’s Day and rolls until 7 p.m. Get a table by calling 336.279.8525.

Sorry Winston-Salem and High Point — if restaurants don’t tell me what they have going on, they don’t get listed here.

More big news: Fire in the Triad starts next week at the Empire Room in downtown Greensboro. The first cook-off pits Undercurrent’s Chef Michael Harkenreader against Chef Wes Patterson from Southern Roots in Jamestown. Tuesday is the first Summer Wine Social at Table 16, with hors d’oeuvres and wine flights, and entertainment by TC Frazier. Call the restaurant for details, and while you’re at it, ask them about their new Prime Rib Night special and their new parking lot on Lewis Street.
