This year ‘Hops Around Greensboro’ participants include Lucky 32, Red Oak Brewery, Mellow Mushroom, and Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar. Lucky 32 will be hosting ‘Beer School’ with the Red Oak Brewery, where $40 will allow you to taste brews from Red Oak Brewery paired with family-style plates. The Red Oak Brewery is also open for tours every Friday at 3 p.m. and includes samplings of the product and a collectible Red Oak glass all for only $15.

The Triad Craft Beer Week will be taking place from April 13-20 at various locations. Mellow Mushroom will also be celebrating beer month by participating in ‘Hops Around Greensboro’ with $3.50 NC Beers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Visit any other day of the week and receive $1 off all N.C Beers. Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar will be changing out their featured taps to include 7 N.C. Beers. Go to www.visitgreensboronc.com to find out more about ‘Hops Around Greensboro’.

An event unique to Greensboro’s Beer Month is the Tap ‘N’ Run which is taking place on April 26 at 2 p.m. This is a fun 4k run/walk with multiple ‘chug stations’ strategically placed at the Start and on the race route where participants get to indulge in 5 ounces of beer on a wild trek to the Finish Line were more brews await. Every participant receives free a finishers medal that doubles as a beer opener, customized bibs, race t-shirt, and an incredibly unique experience. This is a social race and afterwards includes a hilarious Extracurricular Awards Ceremony.

Thanks to The Fresh Market, the proceeds from this year’s ArtsGreensboro Wine Gala on April 3 will be used to support arts programming in the schools through the organization’s popular Teacher Art Grants program. The wine & culinary benefit is scheduled for Thursday April 3, 2014 at the 1560 Highwoods Boulevard Fresh Market store from 8-10pm (just off New Garden Road). The festivities will also celebrate the work and contributions of Guilford County’s arts teachers, including the award of the 2014 Arts Teacher of the Year that evening.

Entertainment will include a special sneak preview of “Duke Ellington Uptown” presented by the Touring Theater of North Carolina. Tickets for the event are only $25, and can be purchased online at artsgreensboro.org or by calling Arts- Greensboro at 336-373-7523 weekdays. !
