It’s pretty amazing the wonderful “foodie” things that we receive in the mail here at the YES! Weekly World Headquarters and over the past few months there are few special items that I feel need to be brought to everyone’s attention.

As we all work so hard and put in so many long hours, two things that were shipped for us to try brought our tiredness to a halt while we enjoyed them.

Energems, a small, colorful, M&M type candy was quite a treat. With three flavors including Mint, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter a small box of the chocolate, hand-held treats contained the same amount of caffeine as 3 large cups of coffee. The little “dietary supplement” treats have 15 calories each and are made with real milk chocolate. You can check them out at

Sunshine Beverages in Winston-Salem was kind enough to send us a fourpack of their Buck O’Hairen’s Legendary Sunshine Ginger Berry energy drink.

I shared it with a staffer who loved energy drinks and one who did not. Both raved about the new gluten-free energy drink that’s sweetened using natural stevia. Offering just 60 calories per 8.4oz can, the drink is packed with electrolytes, natural flavors, vitamin B-12 and some 50mg of caffeine.

When we had a hankering for pie, a request was granted by Kenny’s Great Pies ( out of Marietta, Ga. who make the best Key Lime Pie I have ever had. I’ve been a Key Lime Pie addict since I was eight, and I traveled to Ponte Vedra, Fla. with my family for Easter. While I was in Wilmington a few months ago, I ordered a piece of Key Lime at Dock Street Oyster Bar. As soon as it came out, I knew it was different. After the first bite, I was floored. I scarfed it down, but not before I asked my waitress about it. She told me the name and as soon as I got home I started my research. “Our genuine tropical “Island Style” cream pies are the finest available on the market with the flagship being Kenny’s Key Lime Pie. We are experts at acquiring, grading and juicing fresh citrus fruit on site which give our pies the clean natural flavor of pure citrus that sets them apart.” !
