The Greensboro Farmers Curb Market gave me the blues this weekend. A large gathering of healthy, fresh food seekers flocked to 501 Yanceyville St. to pick out some tomatoes, strawberries, grass-fed meats and more while listening to some great blues music performed by Logie Meachum. Gritty Blues: Grits served with a side of Blues, was Saturday from 9-11:30am. A tip of the hat to newly appointed executive director Lee Mortensen for putting on the fun event as well.
STRAWBERRY PANCAKES – Coming up at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Markets is Strawberry Pancake Day this Saturday from 8-11:30am. Come and enjoy delicious homemade pancakes prepared on the spot by Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes By Alex. The pancakes will be topped with freshly picked strawberries from farmers within the market. Pancake plates are $5.00 and come with your choice of coffee or juice. All proceeds benefit the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market.
UNDERCURRENT – Ben Roberts, owner of the Undercurrent, is celebrating 16 years of business. In a released statement, Roberts said, “On behalf of my family and the entire staff, thank you for your loyal patronage over the years.”

PHOENIX GRILLE – The vacated spot formerly occupied by the Twin City Chop House will have a new tenant. Phoenix Grille plans to open May 27 and will be open for lunch Mon.-Fri. and for dinner Mon.-Sat. Fresh-made pizzas, grilled salmon, lump crab cakes, blackened chicken and more will fill the lunch menu. Dinner features steaks, Angus meatloaf, rosemary chicken, pizzas and sandwiches. !
