DJ handle: DJ Dan the Player Why I use it: Dan is my name and it’s how people have known me since eight years ago when I started playing music; the Player defines all the rhythms, energies and crowds that my hands touch. It’s a great feeling!Real name: Daniel Andres Acosta Nigrinis What I play: All kind of Latin vibes as well as European dance music. I like to mix hip hop and dancehall.

Catch me at: I moved to the Triad area and right now, you can catch my music in Artistika Nightclub every Friday and special Saturdays. Get the best dancehall in Pointe Noire Café on Thursdays, too.

Upcoming shows: Come enjoy Bachata dance classes in Artistika on Fridays and stay for the after-party with me; Saturdays are special for salsa lovers and you will find great people and the best Latin vibes.

Got in the game: I went to many music classes when I was a kid and did lot of meetings in my house that at the age of 14. I looked forward to start a really great career.

Why I do it: I found a special power in music that releases all kind of energies and feelings, then when I play I just give myself to the crowd and take them to my same level.

Influences: I found a great influence in the top Latin DJ Alex Sensation and admire the works of Mick Boogie and Jazzy Jeff. Its really great hear the other DJs from the Triad area to hear their works and learn about it.

Signature style: Beat-matching is where I excel; mixing different rhythms to hear as one song, with lots of energy and extras that get the crowd more hyped.

Studio work: You can find 27 mixes on my page and I’m proud of each one because of their diversity. They’ll make you dance and I’m always improving my sets and skills. I love listen rock and roll or classics while I be outside just to get a break and even dance music before getting in the party for warming up.

Favorite albums: Fania All Stars (salsa), Daddy Yankee (reggaeton)

My gear: Pioneer CDJs, Serato Scratch Live, Boehringer mixer, Ableton Live
