DJ handle: DJ ROU-DEE What it means: Mainly got it from when I first met Big Gigantic last year. The word “rowdy” was certainly a part of their vocabulary and it just kind of stuck with me after that. I decided that name would be a good fit for the styles of EDM I like to play and how I move/jump around while DJing. I went with a phonetic way of spelling the word, and ROU-DEE was born.

Real name: Andrew Fetch What I play: Dubstep, trap, electro house, moombahton, drumstep/hip hop, drum n’ bass Catch me at: Nowhere on a regular basis yet. I’m just trying to play lots of different venues and spread the word around town about DJ ROU-DEE. Droppin’ hot hot beats all over the place! I have, however, DJed at Spy Raleigh and Southland Ballroom each a few times.

Upcoming shows: I’ll be closing out the night at the Clubhouse Greensboro this Friday! I’m also playing at the Roux in Charlotte on Thursday, Dec. 27 alongside the talented Sarah Burns.

Got in the game: December 2011 Why I do it: For the love of EDM. I wanted to share all this amazing music being created in a fun way that I was and still am very passionate about. I just want EDM event attendees to enjoy the music being played and have an overall great time. That in itself is why I strive to keep getting  better as a DJ.

Influences: A-Trak, SKisM, Bassnectar, DJ Sliink, Cyclo, Dismantle, Munchi and David Heartbreak, to name a few of many.

First pro gig: Jan. 19, 2012. At a small club called Mariani’s where I attended school at UNC-Pembroke.

Studio work: None yet, but everyone should be on the lookout!

Favorite technique: Same key mashup mixing and cue/beat juggling.

Signature mix: I’d have to go with my “Jacked Up” mix, currently on my SoundCloud. A lot of time went into it until I settled for a recording I was satisfied with:

Personal playlist: I also play drums in a band, Saints Apollo. We have a unique sound of indie folk rock and of course I love our music. Some of my favorites include 311, Tech N9ne, Guster, Slightly Stoopid, Radiohead, BIG, Chase & Status, the Head and the Heart, I’m just all over the place.

Favorite albums: Miles Davis — Kind Of Blue, Bob Marley — Legend, 311 — Soundsystem, the Head and the Heart’s self titled album, Radiohead  — Kid A.

My gear: Native Instruments Kontrol S2 with Traktor.

Website: Also working on an official website, but hit me up on Facebook for now! facebook. com/DJ.ROUDEE

I’d like to add: Just want to send out a huge thank you to all my friends and family. It’s your continued love and support that keeps me going. Thank you everyone, for listening to a mix, coming to a show, giving me feedback, spreading the word, it means the world to me. LET’S GET ROU-DEE!
