Trans-Syberian Dorkestra returns to Krankies

TRANS-SYBERIAN DORKESTRA ll: THE BUTTCRACKER- ESCAPE FROM URANUS

DECEMBER 19TH, 9:00 PM, KRANKIES COFFEE
Tis’ the season for constant stress and frantic shopping and the dim glimmer of hope that something will come along to take our minds off it all for just a little while. But, wait! What’s that? Local musicians and friends alike have been working hard on the sequel to last year’s gritty, weird, hilarious retelling of the story of Christmas? Yes! Trans Syberian Dorkestra 2: The Buttcracker- Escape from Uranus is a holiday musical meant for mature audiences that cast member Jon Michael Hartwig describes as “a show to offend all races, religions and sexual orientations.” Written collectively by members of Winston-Salem’s punk band Primovanhalen, this year’s production will include aliens, baby Jesus, some slight nudity, a lot of singing and guaranteed laughs. Returning to the stage this year will be Jerry Cooper, Blake Tesh, Alexis Seibert, Marty Rogers and more. Drinks and refreshments will be provided by Krankies and all proceeds from the event will be donated to AARF (Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation). Advance tickets (which are selling quickly) are sold at Reanimator Records at 344 Patterson Ave in Winston-Salem. There’s limited seating so get your spot ASAP. Come out, get weird, get drunk, get out of your holiday rut and fulfill the lifelong dream of seeing a sequel that’s as good as (if not better than) the first.
