When the Apollo rocket landed on the moon, astronaut Neil Armstrong became an American hero with his own catch phrase. Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, also got his due. John Glenn made the first orbit around the Earth. Sally Ride was the first American woman in space; NC A&T University grad Ronald McNair, while not the first African American in space, is remembered because he perished in the Challenger space shuttle disaster. And in the unmanned rover Curiosity, which landed on Mars this week, we have… Mohawk Man, AKA Bobak Ferdowsi. The Curiosity’s flight director has become an internet sensation, largely due to his red-tinted and astral-themed Mohawk. Among the best memes so far: “I was into Mars before it was cool,” “Mars?
