GREENSBORO, NC – The Barn Dinner Theatre rolls out its 52nd Holiday Season with one of the theatre’s most requested comedies, How The Buckner Family Saved Christmas. This hilarious musical, written and directed by Eric Traynor, is onstage December 15-23, 2016.
A disillusioned department store Santa & his 6’4″ not-so-bright sidekick try to ruin the Buckner Family’s Christmas. Instead, the Buckner Family tries to embrace them by presenting the true meaning of the season. A feat that definitely takes much determination & patience. This fast paced, slapstick comedy is sure to make your holiday season memorable!
“A hilarious, feel-good comedy that puts you right into the warm and fuzzy Christmas mood”, says Assistant Director, Matthew C. Bradshaw. “Once you start laughing, you won’t be able to stop”.
How The Buckner Family Saved Christmas features Matthew C. Bradshaw as Larry The Elf, Tab May as Harry, Eric Traynor (Matt Buckner), Robin Doby Easter (Marie Buckner), Bronwen Bradshaw (Melanie Buckner), Jodi Bennett Bradshaw (Jenny Buckner), and first time onstage, 7 year old, Fitty Osorio Salazar as young Mary Buckner.

About The Barn Dinner Theatre
Conceived in the early 60s, The Barn Dinner Theatre in Greensboro was the second location of what eventually became 27 in the chain during its heyday. The shows were cast in New York, then the cast would travel from one Barn Dinner Theatre to the next performing each show (as far as Texas & New Mexico)! To accommodate the actors, each theatre had, as we still do here, living quarters upstairs. These included kitchens, showers, and bedrooms. Occasionally cast members still reside on the property during the run of a show. The casts in the early days actually waited on the tables, before rushing to get ready for the show. Our staff & casts today are grateful this is not still the case!
As the decades went by, many of the locations were closed or sold off. Today this location in Greensboro and Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre in Nashville, TN are the only remaining properties from the original chain. However, the Greensboro location is the only one that still uses the original “magic” stage.
Celebrating over 52 years of “Dinnertainment” in Central NC, The Barn Dinner Theatre is proud to be America’s longest running dinner theatre! Come and be a part of History!
