And Saturday the Vance Chavis Branch Library in Greensboro holds a free health fair beginningat 10 a.m. Faculty and students from NC A&T University will providefree health screenings on weight, body-fat analysis and diabetesassessment. Also, it should be noted that Girl Scout cookie season isupon us. Sales of these sweet little goodies begin in earnest on Feb.14, and to really drive it home the scouts have introduced a newcookie: reduced-fat Daisy Go-Rounds. They look like flowers. Anote on Girl Scout cookies: Both of my sisters were active in the GirlScouts, and in my childhood I consumed many, many boxes of the things.I remember when they introduced the Samoas, those toastedcoconut/chocolate things that come in a single-serving box. Good times.But here’s a little tip from me to you: Get some Thin Mints and some Tagalongs — those chocolate-dipped, peanut-butter ones — and keep them in your freezer. Thank me later.
