Paper Lantern Theatre continues its presentation of Next Fall in Triad Stage’s UpStage Cabaret through Sunday. This witty and provocative play by Geoffrey Nauffts delves into a five-year homosexual relationship to show all angles and points of view surrounding the matter. Nauffts prompts the audience to ponder about their own faith and views, and the compromises they make for the sake of love.

Barn Dinner Theatre continues its presentation of Sing Hallelujah!, now through March 4. A new young minister gradually overcomes a few tribulations to form a gospel quartet for a revival.

Friday, We Are One Artistic Collective explores the justice system when they present 12 Angry Men at the Caldcleugh Multicultural Arts Center in Greensboro. Twelve jurors decide the fate of a young man accused of murdering his father after the seed of reasonable double is planted by one member. Personal experiences and judgments emerge during a spirited debate that leads to surprising results. Show continues through Feb. 4.

Festival Stage of Winston-Salem presents the memory-stirring musical Oil City Symphony at Hanesbrands Theatre Friday through Feb. 19. The theatrer is transformed into a high school gymnasium where four graduates of the ’60s reunite to give a recital in honor of a favorite teacher.

Saturday, the Winston-Salem Symphony presents Symphony Safari: Carnival of the Animals, a discovery concert for kids, at the KR Williams Auditorium.

Sunday, High Point Theatre presents Deer Camp, a comedy about a group of men who attend a deer camp as an excuse to escape their wives, drink beer and goof off. But when their wives become suspicious as to why they’ve never brought home a deer, the group puts together a scheme to save the sanctity of their man camp, without firing a shot.

Next week, Feb. 3, 5, 7, The Merry Wives of Windsor, a comedic opera of love, deceit and revenge, is presented by the AJ Fletcher Opera Institute at the UNC School of the Arts. Based on Shakespeare’s play, the opera tells of the story of a foolish drunkard who attempts to simultaneously woo two married women, but the women turn the tables to teach him a lesson.
