Best of the Triad 2012

cookout

We love this issue, the annual results of the readers’ choice poll naming the Best of the Triad — according to the people who make YES! Weekly what it is.
Sure, it’s a pain counting all the votes, sorting through the ballot stuffers and misplaced entries. It’s aggravating to think of a great category halfway through the voting. It’s disheartening to see personal favorites pushed aside.
But this is not about us — it’s about you: our readers. And what better way to gauge the level of the room?
We love this issue because we find out what kind of people read YES! Weekly. We love it when we see excellence recognized. We love it when perennial winners get knocked off by upstarts. We love it when local, independently owned places beat out the big chains. We love to discover new places and people we hadn’t yet heard of. We love to be surprised.
And this year’s list is full of surprises.
So what are you waiting for? Grab ahold of it. Crack it open. Take a deep draught. The Best of the Triad awaits. And if you disagree with the results, drop us a line at editor@yesweekly.com. Or, better yet, remember to vote next year at yesweekly.com.
